All this week, I will be doing a series on some of the most frequently asked questions about the salvage car industry and process. For four posts, I will answer some of the questions we hear most commonly regarding junk cars.

Yesterday, we talked about the reality of companies — like New York Junk Car Removal — paying cash for junk cars. A lot of the time, even after hearing that they really can get paid to junk a car, people are still skeptical and assume there has to be some sort of catch.

“Yeah, so I can get paid to junk my car, but I bet it’s a big hassle…right?”

Actually, no. It’s quite easy. There are just a few preliminary steps you have to take to make sure the whole thing goes as smoothly as possible:

  1. Locate the necessary paperwork. Having the title for the vehicle is best and allows the sale to go through quickly. However, if you have your driver’s license and a copy of the vehicle registration, that will do instead. Contact your local DMV if you need a new copy of your vehicle registration.
  2. Be familiar with your car. Know the year, make, model and any other important details. This helps us give you the most accurate appraisal over the phone, so you can get paid for your junk car ASAP.

That’s all you have to do. We promise free pick up and towing of your junk car anywhere in New York City, even in the most remote areas of Queens, so you don’t have to worry about getting that hunk of junk down to the yard.

So you see, it’s no a hassle. It’s actually very simple.

Tomorrow: why you should junk your car.
